Meet our teachers
Jennifer McEwen is the founder of Om Sweet Aum Yoga Shala. She has been practicing yoga since 1972 and teaching since 1992. Drawing upon her earliest exposure to Swami Satchitananda's Integral Yoga and throughout the following years thoroughly exploring the Krishnamacharya Lineage which includes Iyengar, Ashtanga and Vini Schools of Yoga, Jennifer is honored to accompany and guide her students on the subtle and profound journey as it unfolds, revealing ever deepening and ever expanding awareness, embodiment, the ongoing exploration of inner space and the discovery of our true primordial essence.
Danielle Bailey began her yoga journey in 2000. She completed her 200-Hour yoga certification through YogaWorks with Natasha Rizopoulos in 2015 and her 500-Hour certification through Down Under School of Yoga in Boston in 2017. She is certified in Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra and has led training in yoga for trauma and yoga for anxiety. She is a clinical social worker that believes deeply in the healing power of breath and movement. She believes that yoga is a transformational practice that offers you a place to truly see yourself and find acceptance and peace within. Judith Way celebrates her 39 years in Fitness, specializing in Pilates. She is a Nationally Certified Pilates Instructor and CA State Licensed Massage Therapist. She believes the body needs to move slowly and with great control. "If you don't take care of your body, where will you live?" Barb Shippy has been teaching group fitness classes since 1981. She had obtained her certifications in group fitness, personal training, power cycle, turbo kickboxing, Pi Yo, silver sneakers, Silver Sneakers chair Yoga and a few others. She has been teaching and training clients at many gyms in Hemet and San Jacinto. She also had her own private studio where she trained clients and gave private yoga sessions. She has lived in Idyllwild since 2015 but still commutes to Powerhouse in San Jacinto to teach fitness classes and makes house calls to her personal training clients. She loves spending time outdoors and runs everyday. She also loves hiking, biking, paddle boarding and sailing. She and her husband have a small place in Oceanside where they spend most weekends. Having a place in the mountains and a place at the beach has been their lifelong dream. Barb's passion has always been to help people reach their health and fitness goals and has been doing so for over 30 years. Tiaga Love Daniel Gray Jennifer Savino Rena May has studied and taught internationally over the last ten years. Her first exposure to yoga came via early training in the theatre, where she immediately took to the movement arts and physical story telling. She remains devoted to movement as a practice that is both personal and expressive. Drawing on her experience in Korean Martial Arts, Classical Indian Dance, Yin, Restorative, Hatha and most recently the Taoist philosophy and archetypal form of Katonah Yoga, her classes emphasize imagination, grace and a sense of play. She is in love with all that is subtle and slow, and invites students into her process for new understandings of time and space. |
